Why buy it as a kit

A groom is three jobs in sequence, and doing one without the others is why home grooming usually fails. Clipping a damp or matted coat drags and hurts. Drying without brushing leaves the loose undercoat in the coat, where it mats again by Thursday. Brushing a bone-dry coat gets far less out than brushing a slightly damp one.

Wash, dry with the brush head, brush out what has lifted, then clip. In that order it takes about half an hour. Out of order it takes an afternoon and your dog hates you.

At $70 a visit, this pays for itself before the second groom.

Choose your brush colour

The clipper kit and dryer come as they are. The brush comes in green, white or pink — pick whichever you prefer; they are otherwise identical. The kit includes the standard brush head; the spray-head version is available on the brush's own page if you'd rather have that.

Start slowly, honestly

If your dog has never been groomed at home, do not open all three on the same day. Run the clippers switched on near your dog without touching them, several times. Do the same with the dryer on its lowest setting. Five minutes of that this week saves months of fighting.

And one thing we'd rather say than have you find out: a heavily matted coat is a job for a professional first. Clippers drag through mats, and dragging teaches a dog to hate the whole business. Get them clipped out once, then maintain at home.

Shipping

The clipper kit and dryer ship from our US warehouse in about 7 days. The brush comes from our overseas warehouse and takes two to three weeks, so it may arrive separately. Standard shipping is $8, or free on orders over $70 — this clears it.

Questions

Will this handle a thick double coat?
For maintenance, yes. For a full strip-out of a heavily matted double coat, see the note above.

Is the dryer safe on skin?
It has built-in temperature control and three settings. Use the lowest that dries in reasonable time and keep it moving.

Do all three arrive together?
Probably not — the brush ships from a different warehouse. Nothing is missing if the clippers and dryer turn up first.
