Why buy it as a kit

This is what most people end up owning after six months and five separate orders — usually in five colours that don't go together, having discovered along the way that the leash they bought first doesn't suit the harness they bought third.

Buying it in one go means the harness, collar and leash are designed as a set, the bowl and bags are there from day one, and everything matches.

If you already own a harness, the Walk Kit or the Travel Kit will suit you better — there's no sense paying for a second one.

Choosing your size

Measure your dog's chest girth at the widest point, just behind the front legs, and pick the harness size. The collar size follows automatically: S pairs with a medium collar, M with a large, L with an extra-large.

One thing to check before you order S. The collar's smallest size fits a 38–47cm (15–18.5in) neck. That suits a small-to-medium dog, but it is too big for a toy breed. If your dog's neck measures under 38cm, buy the Walk Kit and add a collar that fits separately — we would rather tell you now than post you something that doesn't go on.

The leash, bowl and dispenser are one-size.

Colours

Four colourways. Each one is listed piece by piece, so nothing arrives as a surprise.

• Black — black harness, Black collar, black leash, grey bowl, grey and coffee dispenser
• Red — red harness, Rose collar, rose red leash, purplish red bowl, pink and blue dispenser
• Khaki — khaki harness, Khaki collar, orange leash, green bowl, green and white dispenser

About the collar colours

On its own page the collar comes in seven: Khaki, Black, Desert Camo, Blue Camo, Cyan, Pink and Rose.

Three of those are used here — Black, Rose and Khaki — because they are the ones that sit well against the harness. The two camo patterns and the brighter Cyan and Pink look better on their own than in a matched set, so they are not part of a kit colourway.

The Linen kit uses a Khaki collar, and the Red kit uses Rose, because the collar isn't made in linen or a true red. If you want a specific collar colour with this kit, order the kit in Black and add the collar you want from its own page.

Questions

What's the difference between this and the Walk Kit?
The Walk Kit is harness, leash and dispenser for $74.99. This adds the collar and the travel bowl, and colour-matches all five pieces.

Do I need both a collar and a harness?
Most people use both, for different jobs. The collar carries the ID tag and stays on all day. The harness goes on for walks and is what the leash should clip to — a collar puts the whole force of a pull on your dog's throat.

Can I swap a piece?
Not within the kit — the four colourways are fixed. For a different pairing, buy the pieces from their own pages.

Do all five items ship together?
They're five separate items from our supplier, so they may arrive on different days. Nothing is missing if only part of the kit turns up first.

Is the discount real?
