An honest word about soft crates

Soft-sided crates are for dogs who are already comfortable being crated. They are fabric and mesh: a determined dog who panics can get out of one, and a serious chewer will damage it. If your dog is new to crating, or has separation anxiety, train with a rigid crate first and use this for travel once they are settled.

Questions

What size dog?
At about 28 inches it suits small and medium dogs — a spaniel or a small terrier comfortably. Your dog should be able to stand, turn round and lie flat.

Can I use it in the car?
Yes, as a den in the boot. It is not a crash-rated travel crate and should not be treated as one.

Is it chew-proof?
No. See the note above — this is for dogs who are settled in a crate, not for containing one who objects.
